Career Prospect for Graduates
Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, the students will have strong career opportunities in Cambodia and the region due to the rapid expansion of infrastructure development, urbanization, and construction investment. With solid knowledge in engineering science, design, construction technology, sustainability, and project management, graduates will be able to work in both the public and private sectors, as well as with international development organizations. Civil Engineering graduates may pursue careers in areas such as structural engineering, construction management, MEP systems, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics and water resources, materials engineering, and environmental engineering. Graduates will contribute to the development of safe, sustainable, and innovative infrastructure in Cambodia and beyond.
CE graduates can find themselves employed as:
Civil Engineer: assist in planning, design, and supervision of construction projects; prepare technical documents and reports; coordinate with contractors; ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
Structural Engineer: design and analyze buildings/bridges; prepare structural calculations and drawings; ensure structural safety and standards compliance; support inspection and structural improvement.
Site Engineer/Site Supervisor: supervise daily site work; monitor progress and resources; ensure construction follows drawings/specifications; solve technical site issues; implement safety and quality control.
Project Engineer/Project Coordinator: Support project planning and scheduling; coordinate between teams and stakeholders; monitor time, cost, and quality; assist procurement and documentation.
Construction Manager/ Project Manager: lead construction projects; manage budget, schedule, and workforce; ensure safety and quality; coordinate stakeholders; manage risks and project delivery.
Quantity Surveyor: prepare BOQ and cost estimates; control project cost; evaluate contractor claims and payments; support tendering and contract documents; forecast project expenses.
Geotechnical Engineer: conduct soil/site investigations; analyze soil behavior; design foundations; recommend ground improvement; monitor geotechnical issues during construction.
Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineer: design water supply, drainage, and flood control systems; analyze hydrological data; support irrigation projects; develop climate-resilient solutions.
Environmental Engineer: support EIA and compliance; promote sustainable construction practices; design basic water/wastewater solutions; monitor environmental impacts and safety.
Quality Control Engineer (Materials): test construction materials; ensure compliance with standards; monitor concrete mix and workmanship; prepare testing reports; improve durability and quality.
